The principals in our firm are experienced advisors and client-side executives. Each team member has held senior management positions in premier healthcare organizations, including large health systems, managed care organizations, and commercial laboratories. Kevin Hunter, MBA

Chief Executive Officer

Kevin Hunter has substantial experience in operations improvement efforts at some of the nation’s largest health systems and academic medical centers. He has implemented multimillion-dollar laboratories for numerous hospital systems, physician practice management companies, and large physician groups, as well as delivered rapid, critical improvement efforts. Kevin has also provided interim leadership and coaching services for multiple commercial and academic labs across the country.

Prior to founding Colaborate, Kevin was president and CEO of Hunter Consulting. He served as a director for Navigant Consulting, where he developed and led the laboratory consulting division, and as senior VP for Group Practice Services, a laboratory management services company for large physician groups, hospitals, and practice management companies. Kevin also served as district business manager of Florida for MetPath/Corning Clinical Laboratories (now Quest Diagnostics).


Eugene Bustria, MBA, MT

Chief Operations Officer

Eugene Bustria has more than 30 years of experience in managing operations with P&L responsibilities for commercial, esoteric, and large health system laboratories. After four years of active duty in the U.S. Navy, he began his civilian career in the laboratory industry with National Health Laboratories (NHL). In his 18 years with NHL, he managed laboratories in California, Arizona, and Kentucky.

When NHL and Roche Biomedical merged to form LabCorp, Eugene was promoted to AVP to lead multiple operations in California, including clinical and AP, customer service, IT, QA, compliance, and logistics. Eugene has also served as SVP of eastern operations and SVP financial planning & analysis for American Medical Laboratories, VP of ambulatory operations & logistics for ACL Laboratories, SVP of operations for Carilion Labs, and SVP strategic business operations & integrations for Solstas Lab Partners.

William G. Price, MD

Pathologist / Medical Director

William Price is a board-certified anatomic and clinical pathologist who served six years as laboratory medical director for the Virginia division of Solstas Lab Partners, providing professional oversight and leadership for seven clinical and anatomic pathology laboratories.

Dr. Price has conducted numerous accreditation inspections for the College of American Pathologists (CAP) as inspection team leader. He was educated at Duke University, the University of North Carolina, and the Medical College of Virginia.

Ginger Borer, MT (ASCP), MBA

Director of Regulatory and Compliance

Ginger has excelled in organizational leadership with more than 20 years of medical laboratory experience including operations in the technical laboratory, outreach, logistics, warehouse, customer service, quality management and program management across multiple geographical regions.

Ginger’s career experience spans various leadership roles in licensing/accreditation, standardization, operations, and education with Parkview Health System and PA Labs, as well as directing outreach operations for Carilion Labs, and program management for Solstas Lab Partners.

 

Deborah Giambo B.S. MT (ASCP) SH

Senior Operations Consultant

Experienced Clinical Laboratory Executive focused on lean process improvement, staff development, cost efficiency and revenue enhancement. Proven track record in project management, on or under budget performance management, development of crucial multi-disciplinary relationships, effective communication, and development of staff at all levels, fostering team dynamics and streamlining clinical and technical processes.

Extensive background in laboratory leadership in commercial, hybrid and hospital environments. Proven history of in-depth knowledge of and good performance on JCAHO, CAP and NYS laboratory surveys.
