George Deratany, MA, MT(ASCP)

George Deratany, Associate Consultant for Colaborate, has more than 15 years of leadership and technical experience in the health industry. Mr. Deratany has a diverse background with leadership experience in all technical laboratory areas, as well as in outreach operations, regulatory compliance and billing financial management services. He has recently served as administrative director for a large university medical center. In addition to overseeing 500-600 employees, he has worked closely with VP’s from two hospitals, the laboratory physician staff and medical director.

Prior to joining Colaborate, Mr. Deratany served as the laboratory outreach billing supervisor and system laboratory compliance officer at a large Midwestern health system. Mr. Deratany also developed and initiated several quality improvement initiatives, which resulted in substantial savings across the laboratory health system.

Mr. Deratany holds a BS degree in medical technology from Michigan State University, and a MA degree in health care administration from Siena Heights University. Mr. Deratany is registered by the College of American Pathologists as a MT(ASCP), and is a member of American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).
